The 2025 LATINA Style 50
By Beana Ramirez, Gloria Romano-Barrera and Robert Bard
For over 28 years, LATINA Style has celebrated excellence in the workplace by recognizing companies that make a difference in advancing careers. Each year, the LATINA Style 50 Report has served as a benchmark study, acknowledging organizations that go beyond policy to create real opportunities for employees to grow, lead, and thrive.
In 2025, we continue this proud tradition with a renewed focus on empowerment, leadership, and impact. This year’s LS50 highlights companies that are redefining what it means to support their employees in the modern workforce, from leadership development and mentorship programs and supportive workplace cultures that encourage everyone to reach their full potential. We are proud to recognize Wells Fargo as the 2025 Company of the Year, honoring its long-standing dedication to building pathways for their employees across all levels of leadership. Through intentional programs, measurable outcomes, and a culture of support, Wells Fargo continues to exemplify the standard of excellence that the LS50 represents.
Unlike previous editions, the 2025 LS50 companies are presented in alphabetical order, underscoring a shared commitment to progress rather than competition. Each organization featured in this year’s report stands as a model of what’s possible when employee’s advancement is not just encouraged but embedded in the fabric of the workplace.
As we honor the 2025 LATINA Style 50, we celebrate not only corporate success but also the collective strength of individuals shaping the future of work.
CBRE
Sandy Fusco
Senior Vice President
Deputy Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer
As Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at CBRE, Sandy Fusco oversees global ethics and compliance programs spanning anti–money laundering, sanctions, anti-corruption, governance, training, and conflicts of interest—plus a network of 33 field compliance officers worldwide. But when you ask what she’s most proud of, it’s not the scale of her work, but the people she leads.
“I’m most proud of my team. I lead an incredible group of people that I work with,” she shares. “There’s nothing I love more than putting together a team, getting them moving in the same direction, and driving for those results.”
This combination of high-stakes responsibility and people-first leadership has been shaped by an unconventional journey—from Alaska, to the U.S. Navy, to law, and ultimately to an executive leadership role at CBRE. There, Fusco is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing CBRE’s Ethics & Compliance program, helping to build a strong and trusted business for all their stakeholders.
Fusco’s path to leadership began not with a clear corporate plan, but with a need for access to education.
“Quite frankly, my family didn’t have money for college,” she shares. “I knew that if I wanted to pursue college, I was going to need a scholarship, and so I applied for an ROTC scholarship and received it.”
Despite not coming from a military family, she embraced the opportunity fully, serving eight years as a naval officer and mission commander on a carrier-based airplane. After leaving active duty, she pursued law school and practiced as a commercial litigator at a large New York–based law firm. Eventually, she transitioned into risk and compliance—a field she now calls home.
“I really didn’t see myself ultimately ending up in compliance,” she shares. “But now I’ve been in risk and compliance for over a decade, and I absolutely love the job.”
Fusco credits her military service with sharpening not only her discipline, but also her values and leadership style.
“The Navy and the military in general are very much values-driven organizations,” she shares. “But I would say the number one thing it gave me was a sense of servant leadership. If your focus is on your team—supporting them, helping them grow, helping them find success—you ultimately will achieve your goal.”
This servant-leadership mindset informs how she shows up as one of the highest-ranking women at CBRE. She leads not through title alone, but through example.
“I try to lead by example,” she shares. “I try to hold myself to a really high standard so that other people can see how I’m behaving. I always try to treat everyone I interact with with kindness, but I also expect excellence of myself and my team.”
Before joining CBRE, Fusco was Senior Director of Strategy, Technology and Governance for Walmart's Global Marketplace and e-Commerce Compliance. Fusco also served as the head of Walmart's Financial Intelligence Unit, leading hundreds of associates and vendors responsible for AML investigations and reporting. Prior to joining Walmart, she spent over five years as Senior Director, Risk Management for Capital One’s Auto Finance division, where she was responsible for AML, sales practices, audit and exam management, regulatory change management, risk remediation, sales practices, and fair lending programs across all four lines of business within the auto finance organization.
For Fusco, success is not defined solely by title or external accolades. It is rooted in family, fulfillment, and meaningful work. Professionally, she frames success around engagement and purpose.
“From a professional standpoint, I think it’s having work that is challenging to you, and that engages you, and working with a group of colleagues that makes that fulfilling,” she shares. “And by those definitions, I feel really fortunate and very lucky to be where I am now.”
As a woman who entered naval aviation at a time when “there were very, very few women,” Fusco is candid about the pressure she felt to fit in and admits it was not easy. However, her message to women and Latinas, in both military and corporate environments, is to develop your own authentic style of leadership.
“I think what I learned is that it’s really okay to be yourself,” shares Fusco, whose mother immigrated from Mexico City. “As a leader, I’m much happier being an authentic version of myself. Regardless of your background, finding your own personal style and finding what works for you is the way forward. It’s okay if the people around you may not look like you, or don’t come from the same background that you do. Don’t be deterred by that. Lean into what works for you, and over time, discover what that is—what is your authentic self.”
Fusco is quick to acknowledge the leaders who championed her early in her career. Today, she seeks to be that same force for others.
“I had several leaders, especially early on in my military career, who stood up and supported me,” she shares. “I was always surprised and delighted by that support, but I’ve come to realize just how important those kinds of relationships are. I really try to be that type of support for the people on my team.”
