National LATINA Symposium

Launched in 2004, the National LATINA Symposium stands as the largest gathering of Latina military leaders across the nation. This symposium is a dynamic event where in-depth discussions take place through round-table sessions, panel discussions, comprehensive surveys, and insightful commentaries. Key topics covered include career development, business opportunities, family dynamics, health and wellness, cultural awareness, political and civic engagement, as well as the intricacies of pursuing a military career.

Colonel Maria McMillen

“Thank you to Latina Style for hosting an amazing event highlighting and recognizing Latinas in military service.  This commitment to recognize women who are outstanding in their field is commendable and very appreciated.  Providing a symposium to allow Latinas a place to reflect on the past and the future is a treasured opportunity.”

National Heroes Award

As part of its commitment to recognizing and supporting those who serve, the National LATINA Symposium established the Hero Initiative in 2012 as a development program and recognition platform for Veterans. Over the years, this initiative has honored the remarkable contributions of Veterans who exemplify resilience, excellence, and selfless service. Now, the initiative is evolving to expand its reach, honoring an even broader range of heroes through the newly launched National Heroes Awards. In 2025 we are honoring exceptional individuals in the following categories:

  • Veterans: Latinas, women of all backgrounds, and men who have served in the military and continue to create a lasting impact through leadership, service, and civic engagement.

  • Veteran First Responders: Military veterans who now serve as firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, or emergency personnel.

  • Military Spouses: The steadfast supporters of military families and communities, whose behind-the-scenes sacrifices deserve recognition.

  • Civilian Heroes: Individuals who demonstrate extraordinary courage, compassion, and leadership through acts of heroism and service to others.

The National Heroes Awards will be held virtually on September 18, 2025, bringing together honorees, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate these remarkable individuals. Follow the link below to register for the event and receive an invitation to the ceremony.
