Planifique Para Su Salud!

Aetna and the Financial Planning Association launched a new public education campaign called, Planifique Para Su Salud. The campaign is designed to empower Latinos through their increased understanding of the healthcare system. It will include the launch of a new website, www.planifiqueparasusalud.com, and a free booklet, Guia de Beneficios de Salud Para Dummies. Both are designed to provide women with informed advice about healthcare throughout their lives acknowledging that their health and financial needs and concerns are often shifting.

October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Estée Lauder will celebrate its fifteenth anniversary of its annual breast cancer awareness campaign, “Win the Fight Against Breast Cancer”. Estée Lauder will donate $500,000 in connection to the sales of the Pink Ribbon Collection (see right) to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

  • One in eight women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer within their lifetime.

  • It is projected that 40,460 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007.

Carnival Center for the Performing Arts: First Annual Gala

The Carnival Center for the Performing Arts in Miami will hold its first annual Gala on October 17, 2007. The event will feature a performance by Peruvian Opera Star, Juan Diego Flores. The tickets to the gala will include a Champaign Welcome, catered dinner and dessert, concert tickets and passes to two parties following the concert. Individual concert tickets are also available.

Episodios Cifrados de Tango (Tango Encoded Episodes)

“Tango-Encoded Episodes” is a play in which a combination of tango and modern dance is used as a means of communicate human reactions to various emotional life situations. The play stars highly revered Argentine dancers Claudio Gonzalez, and Melina Brufman. The performances will take place at the George Washington University, in Washington DC on October 12th and 13th at 8:00 p.m.

Roxanne is a business entrepreneur who founded her own transportation service. She owns “Roxy’s Limousine & Sedan Service.” The company provides transportation to and from special events, as well as corporate and Airport transportation. The company is comprised of a fleet of limousines, SUV’s and Sedans. “This business has been full of fun and surprises, it keeps me busy along with my family and my full time job,” White-Ornelas said.
