Valentines Day Q&A  /  Say it With...

Valentine’s Day is not just about hugs and kisses for your romantic loved one, but also a time to exchange caring messages with friends, becoming a day for singles to celebrate as well. The mere mention of Valentine’s Day conjures up thoughts of red roses, red-bowed boxes of chocolates and maybe even a card signed with XOXO. This day, traditionally associated with Cupid, the god of romance and love, is not only for sweethearts but also for anyone to share their appreciation of their loved ones. LATINA Style asked readers to express their thoughts on this chocolate-fueled day.

A gadget because I don't think you can go wrong with giving men some type of gadget.

Name: Diego Valencia
Age: 25

Having dinner in a boat while going around New York City and listening to some nice music would be a great gift.

With the Perfect V-Day

Name: Nilda Melissa Díaz Rodriguez
Age: 24
Occupation: Journalist
Ethnicity: Puerto Rican

A stand up show, laughter makes you lose inhibitions and feel more comfortable around others. True, the show might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's better than a dinner with bad or -even worse- no conversation.

Name: Andy Garcia
Age: 27
Occupation: Case Manager
Ethnicity: Latino/ Hispanic

The perfect Valentine’s date would be one that is romantic but fun. Like not just sit in front of a television and watching “The Notebook”. Maybe go away for the weekend to the Poconos. We can shack up in a nice cozy cabin with a fireplace. Eat dinner, and then drink Spanish wine in front of an open flame.

What You Consider Romantic

Name: Kimberlly Irizarry
Age: 29
Occupation: Office/Production Manager
Ethnicity: Puerto Rican

Aaaaaaaaaaa Romance!!! I am such a helpless romantic. Romantic is being thoughtful in all sense of the word. Romantic is to take out the time to create a card instead of buying a Hallmark card and to know the likes of that person and enhance them with little details, to be anywhere with that special someone and live that very moment like a movie. See that moment as if everyone present is an extra and the main characters are you and that special someone. Romantic is to look into that special someone’s eyes and without saying a word pouring your love/like/care to them visually. I guarantee you that the sparkle transmitted through the eyes never lie.

Name: Oscar Gamez
Age: 24
Occupation: Student
Ethnicity: Mexican-American

To propose marriage at a romantic setting--a nice restaurant by the beach with a sunset view.
