National LATINA Symposium

 

“Celebrating Latinas in the Global War on Terror” at the 4th National LATINA Symposium

“They are courageous, they are patriotic and they have volunteered to serve their nation for the country’s freedom and safety,” she said. “Simply said, they are making the world a better place.”

After such inspiring words of hope and assurance, the Presentation of Military Awards continued with Mr. Dominguez and Mr. Bard presenting the six Latinas in the armed forces. This year’s distinguished awardees are the following: Sergeant Major Venus Carpenter of the United States Army, Lieutenant Junior Grade Angela Gonzales of the United States Navy, Captain Edna Rodriguez of the United States Marine Corps, Captain Zinnia James of the United States Air Force, Master Sergeant Katherine Perez of the National Guard Bureau, and Lieutenant Xochitl Castañeda of the United States Coast Guard. Once again, Congratulations to all the awardees!
