Winners
On
June 18, the American
Women in Radio and
Television (AWRT)
announced the 2007
winners of the annual
Gracie Awards ®,
recognizing exemplary
programming created for
women, by women and
about women within the
media industry. This
year’s national winners,
include NBC/30 Rock’s
Tina Fey, CNN’s Anchor
Soledad O’Brien, CBS’
correspondent, Kimberly
Dozier, XM Radio’s Oprah
& Friends Jean Chatzky
Show, and many more. The
Gracies are presented by
the Foundation of AWRT,
the philanthropic arm of
AWRT that supports
educational programs,
charitable activities,
public service campaigns,
and scholarships to
benefit the public, the
electronic media, and
allied fields. |

year’s theme was “Women
in Business: Launching a

annual LULAC National
Convention and
Exposition, Empowering
Latinos: Building
Prosperity through
Partnerships from July
9-July 14 at the
Historic Navy Pier in
Chicago. The event drew
over 15,000 participants
including top government,
business, and community
leaders for a week
filled with celebrity
speakers, important
seminars and
entertainment. |
