A Girl Thing

There’s no doubt that girlfriends are important to us — what is not always so clear is how to keep in touch with them. In a recent survey conducted by General Foods International and Harris Interactive, 50 percent of women polled saw their girlfriends at least once a month and 22 percent saw them at least once a week, but over a quarter only saw their girlfriends a few times a year!

If you’re lucky enough to live in the same place as your girlfriends, make a date every month for a girls’ night out on the town — mark several months’ dates in your calendars ahead of time so you don’t make other plans! And if you’re one of the many women who is separated from her girlfriends by distance, take advantage once a year of one of the great weekend packages that hotels and resorts offer, and have a girlfriends reunion!

If you prefer something more low-key, then call up your girlfriends every few weeks for a cup of coffee (GFI suggests its instant Chai Latte). Why not make it an after-dinner cup and follow it up with a grownup sleepover, complete with grownup girls’ games, facials and, of course, a night full of girl talk.

No Boys Allowed
